Art by Kerry Alexandra

As a creative child, Kerry developed a deep love of the natural world, from animals and birds to flowers and plants. Family holidays were often spent exploring the British countryside, where she was surrounded by the beauty of nature in all its forms – fur, feather, and flora.

From an early age, Kerry was encouraged to be creative and could often be found filling sketchbooks with drawings, paintings, and pressed flowers gathered on her adventures outdoors.

Her passion for textiles began at school and continued to grow throughout her university studies, eventually leading to a rewarding career teaching textiles in secondary schools.

Always keen to develop her own creative practice, Kerry was introduced to free-motion machine embroidery by a talented artist she is now proud to call a friend. This discovery opened up a whole new world of possibilities and sparked a passion that has remained at the heart of her work ever since.

Today, Kerry combines free-motion embroidery with a variety of mixed-media techniques to create unique textile artworks inspired by the natural world. Through layers of fabric, stitch, texture, and colour, she captures the beauty and character of the wildlife and landscapes she loves.

Workshops provide Kerry with the opportunity to share her passion for textiles and introduce others to new creative techniques in a fun and supportive environment.

Kerry lives in beautiful Worcestershire with her husband and two slightly crazy Labradors. When she's not out enjoying the countryside, she can usually be found in her home studio, creating behind her beloved sparkly Bernina sewing machine, affectionately known as “Lola”.
